Ok... I am exaggerating a lil bit when I say we build extreme super duper high converting websites. But just a lil bit. But hear me out. Most people I seen that say they build high-converting websites always seem to be missing one important aspect of what makes websites high-converting, and that is persuasive content. There is a lot of nice beautiful websites out there with nice looking forms, call to action buttons, cool graphics, etc., but the most important element, which is persuasive content always seems to be missing.
Don't get me wrong. All these things like having a lead magnet form, having call to action buttons, nice graphics, pretty design, etc., is still super important. We don't build websites without them. But without persuasive content, which I believe is the most element that makes a website convert, you won't have that super winning edge. In todays hyper competitive landscape, you need everything that gives your business an advantage to win!
Here at Handsome Leads, we don't just build websites, we build websites that sell. Everything from the typography, the graphics, the pictures, call to action buttons, and specially the words used on your website, will be all optimize for sales performance. When a potential client lands on this website, they will instantly know they are dealing with a highly credible business. Not only that. As then go down the road of browsing through your website, they will be taken down a path of persuasion that they won't help but want to choose you over other businesses. Your competitors will wish their website looked like yours.
Why You Need a Website That Sells?
Today, almost every business out there has a website that is good enough. Every business has a website that is pretty enough, has a form, has call to action buttons, pictures, and all what makes a website great. If you don't have a website like this (or don't have a website at all), you are immediately ruled out by most people looking for your type of business. So, if you want to stand out, then you will need a website that is much more than good enough. What you need is a website that goes beyond and above in every way. What you need is a website that sells. If you settle for a regular website, you will be like most other businesses. And by being like most businesses, you won't have that edge that will make people choose your business over others. A website that sells not only makes you stand out from the crowd, but it also designed to persuade and turn potential customers into buying ones. It's a double punch combo that guarantees potential customers pay attention to you. Without a website that sells, you risk losing a lot of potential customers that come to your website to your competitors or just plain ol inertia/indecision.
How Exactly Do We Build Websites That Sell?
I'm sure you already know that a website that sells is a website that is optimized for high conversion rates. But, how do we build websites with high conversion rates? We have made a measurable point system that ensures that the websites we build will be high converting websites. This point system takes into account every method or idea that has been proven to make a website increase it's conversion rate. For example, we know that using real photos of your business instead of stock photos increases conversion rate because real photos make your website more personal and real. And a more personal and real website makes people trust you more. In our system, having real photos of your business gives your website more points. The more points your website has, the more selling power or higher conversion rate it will have.
Imagine your website being part of a point system. The more points your website has, the more
selling power it will have. You get points by doing certain things that will help increase the conversion rate of your website. And there are a lot of ways or methods out there that are proven to increase the conversion rate of your website. These things, methods, or ways of increasing your website conversion we simply call selling concepts. Earlier we mentioned having real pictures over stock photos is one good way of increasing conversions because real photos promote incite trust. So, let's say by adding real photos to your website, you have added 5 points to your website. Another way of increasing the conversion rate of your website is by having a headline (on the home page / lading page) that captures peoples attention and make them curious about the content of your website. There are many studies showing how a good headline can increase conversion rates up to 68%! So, let's say you added a good headline to the main page of your website. And let's say this adds 5 more points to your website selling power. Now, you have 10 points of selling power! The more selling points you accumulate for your website, the more selling power it will have!
Not All Selling Concepts Are Created Equal
Not every concept or idea that increases conversion rates have an equal amount of points. Before, we were making each selling concept have equal amount of points. But now, every selling concept will have a different amount of points depending on how important it is for increasing conversions. So, for example, using real photos instead of stock photos will have different amount of points than adding a good headline that stops people dead in their tracks. We believe a good headline is more important than using real photos when it comes to conversions. Having stock photos is not the end of the world, but not having a good headline that is able to stop people from getting distracted and pay attention to the content of your website can really lower your conversion rates significantly (there's research to back this up). So now, with this being said, we believe using real photos boost will your website selling power by 5 points. But having a compelling heading will boost your website selling power by 15 points.
The Goal Is To Get As Many Points As Possible!
It doesn't matter really that a headline boost your website selling power more than using real photos on your website. The goal of a website that sells is to accumulate as many selling points as possible. Because the more selling points you have, the more selling power your website will have. And the more selling power your website has, the more likely a potential customer is to become one of your customers. But having a priority point system does also help us know where to put most of our focus and energy. Now, you must be wondering, "what other selling concepts are there to help boost my website selling power"? The next slide will show you some of the most important ones. Check them out.
Design is focused on beauty without much emphasis readability and capturing attention. Remember that people are easily distracted. We must create an environment that limits those distractions as much as possible to make it conductive to persuade.
Website has minimum informative/educational content and immediately ask for a sale or form summation like "get a free estimate now" or "sign up to our course today".
Has regular or AI content that is copied then pasted and sounds robotic or generic and boring.
Generic stock photos that people can obviously tell are stock photos. If people can tell your pictures are stock photos, subconsciously they will perceive you as less credible (or lazy :O).
Website has a basic form that only gathers basic details (name, number, email, phone number, and message).
When a website form is submitted, nothing really happens other than a popup box that says "thank you for submitting" or they are redirected to a simple "thank you page with very little content on it.
Content is dispersed everywhere throughout the website without a priority system.
Design focuses on readability and attention capturing, not just beauty and modernization.
Website has a lot of information and educational content that makes the potential customer comfortable to take the nest step like handing over their information or purchasing something.
Content inspired by AI, but written with the art and science of persuasive copywriting.
Real high quality photos that make people perceive you as real, legit and trustworthy. If stock photos are used, they are stock photos are high quality and have more of a "wow" factor instead of a "oh, that's obviously a stock photo" factor.
Website form has custom form fields that can gather key valuable information from visitor. Instead of just having basic info fields like name, number, and email, you can also have qualifying fields like fields "how many employees does your business have" or intel gathering field like "where did you hear about us?".
When the form is submitted, the person is then taken to a page where they will shown in great detail what will happen next and also be shown testimonials, FAQs, and additional info that will help push the sales process forward towards a good outcome.
Content has a priority system. Reviews for example, are something that potential customers first take a look at before anything else. Therefore, reviews must be pushed to the top before anything else is seen. We control what is seen first, not the potential visitor.
So we know the more selling points we get, the more selling power our website will have. So, I'm sure at this point you are wondering, "what things can I do on my website that will give me the most selling points" and "how do you know doing these things will increase the selling power or conversion rate of my website?". So, in order to understand how and why this works, let me introduce you to universal psychological or persuasive principles. Once you read about these principles, you will see why it works.
The Lead
There is research out there that says the first few moments of a sales interaction is responsible for the majority of your sales pitch. This first few moments on your website can be the first few words, images(s), video interaction, etc. that your visitors see once they land on your website. Some people call this the first view or screen. In the paper news world, it was called "top of the fold". So, if you want to have the biggest selling impact on a person, then you must make the first few moments on your website have the most important persuasive elements possible (Ex of this: attention grabbing headline with a powerful compelling intro).
The Lizard Brain
People generally can tell if something is fake, fishy, or exaggerated almost instantly. That's because we have a powerful system that works on autopilot we call the "subconscious mind". "We depended on our subconscious mind in the past for our survival. Knowing who is being deceptive was extremely important for survival. So, unless you have good understanding of the human psychology, trying to deceive people at first will always eventually sway them away. But the thing is, this deception doesn't have to be obvious or malignant. Even the most "innocent" of things can trigger this feeling of "Hmm... that's not right". Stuff like having stock photos or giving away a free estimate can trigger the "that's fake" or "what is the catch" in their brains.
Authority
People in general trust or give high credibility to authority. Authority doesn't necessarily have to mean a police officer, judge, or president. Authority can be the leading brand or a celebrity. If an authority symbol or figure (you like) is used on a sales message, you will likely pay more attention to it and consider buying. That is why big companies use celebrity's in their commercials, big brand logos on their websites, and other symbols like "the red cross" or figures that display some sort of authority.
Herd Theory
All of us to a certain extent are followers because there is safety in numbers. When we see multitudes of people moving towards a certain direction, we pay attention and see if we should also join them. If you are thinking of going to a good restaurant or watching a good movie, you take a look at the line of people waiting, reviews, views, likes, or whatever signify a lot of people are choosing.
Categories or Grouping Information
People think in categories. It is the best way to navigate and make sense of information. When you have information spilled all over the place, people will get lost, forget, and eventually just look elsewhere. Imagine reading a newspaper or essay with no headlines and subheadings? A book without chapters? The more information and complexity your content has, the more categories should be used to organize it.
Time and Amount
The more complicated or expensive something is, the more time, information, and/or education a person will need to want make a decision. Selling, in the end, is really about delivering valuable information that will help a person make a decision. Yes there might be an element of creativity and psychology to it, but the foundation of selling is delivering valuable information in an easy to understand format. The more something will cost a person, the more time, information, and persuasion they will need.
